Tasks for 10/28/2017 work-party

(List has changed since last announcement!)

1 - BUILD RETAINING WALLS IN RIFLE RANGE.

Special rifle range work parties on did a LOT, but weren't able to finish.

Will involve mixing concrete, setting posts (holes were augered already), cutting & lagging boards, adding gravel, filter cloth & pipe french drains, some shoveling.

2 - PREPARE LOCATION FOR NEW RANGE GENERATOR.

Will be put along outside of Pistol House, by back gate.  Grind small stump (there is a small stump in an inconvenient location).  Measure, location, build the  concrete form for 40" x 52" x 4" thick slab.  Prepare surrounding area per generator manufacturer (Kohler) drawing. Example: attach cement tile board to side of outer wood wall of Pistol House, add gravel (or drain rock) to area on exhaust side of slab, etc.

3. General range cleanup:

  • Sweep out houses.
  • Magnet sweep up staples etc.
  • Repair target frames.
  • Rake target areas as needed.
  • Haul trash (more trash than usual, due to 10/21-22 rifle range work)

3a - Replace shot-up wood protectors on target berm structures and sheds.  (remove old boards, cut and attach new ones).

3c – Anchor astro-turf mats in Pistol & Rifle house target access aisles.  Need 1/4" masonry drill bits, and/or hammer drill.

  • Should be fastened down, yet removeable for cleaning & replacement.
  • Requires 1/4" masonry drill bits, and/or hammer drill, to install fasteners into concrete floor.
