When you arrive at work-day, please initial item #s that you would like to do, or can do.
Tasks will be worked, if sufficient members attend and initial.

1 - Non-potable water storage for range repair work (for mixing concrete, etc.).
  • a.     Fill 5 gallon buckets at SVWD Recycled water station.  Station is at Skypark, across from SV senior center.
  • b.     Relocate some (non-shot up) barrels under pistol roof downspouts, for use as cisterns.
  • c.     Mark barrels with "non-potable water" using toolshed spray paint. (create a stencil, if you’re handy with an exacto knife and paper).
2 - Lead stilling pond for Pistol range.
  • a.     Fill the pit walls & corners with concrete.
  • b.     Connect the pit to creek outfall, with splash blocks and concrete.
  • c.     Line the pit sides and bottom, using coating materials in toolshed (if insufficient material in toolshed, do a material run.  Expense or use one of the SVSC accounts in place, contact me if needed).
3 - Rifle range entry area storm washout repair wrap-up.
  • a.     Fill gap in wall (at end of culvert) with a sack of concrete.
  • b.     Route, support and anchor the 3” corrugated drain pipe.
  • c.     Make a low (6”-12”?) retaining wall, with PT boards or concrete blocks, to slow the repair rocks from sliding down.
4 - Rifle range drainage repair (Member-capable items only. There’s more, but a tractor is required).

4A - Clean water bypass drain

  • a.     Clean out culvert pipe drainage gaps (i.e. the open spaces between culverts).
  • b.     Repair or rebuild wood covers on top of the culvert cleanouts.
  • c.     Repair the leaking clean-out corners with concrete.

4B - Leaded water range drain

  • a.     Repair the wood dams, and increase dam height (replace or repair boards, add more boards on top).
  • b.     Place concrete blocks or rock to slow down the water off the wood dams.
  • c.     Raise height of drainage weirs below the wood dams.

5 – Reduce trip hazard at Pistol range entry.

  • a.     At the step in front of pistol house, add railing boards between Yellow Pole and wall.

6 - Target frame and base maintenance.

  • a.     Pistol – Hang up all good frames (add hangers and mark frame outlines as needed).  Upgrade broken frames to new standard, or demolish (keep usable boards, discard the rest).
  • c.     Rifle – Place enough target bases at each distance (keep extras in Pistol range).  Upgrade broken frames to new standard, or demolish (keep usable boards, discard the rest).

7 - Clean up Pistol & Rifle house and target areas (houses & flat areas, not berms).

  • a.     Shovel, fill rivulets/holes, rake, sweep.
  • b.     Replace the wood “protection pieces” in pistol range.
  • c.     Run the magnet sweep (in tool shed) everywhere to pickup steel debris (staples, screws, etc.).
  • d.     Pickup brass, clear drain boxes.

8 - Continue improving front gate parking lot entry path.

  • a.     Fill holes, shovel, level & rake.  Take debris to dumpster or add to brush pile.
  • b.     Create low step terraces, set wood borders, and spread drain rock (same as area around badge gate)
  • c.     Replace rotten step/terrace boards with PT boards and/or concrete blocks from range material.
  • d.     Evaluate & prep path for gravel to improve rainy season use.

9 – Clear large wood debris from the creek.
Upstream, between the bridge outside entry gate, and pistol lead stilling pond outflow.

10 - Haul branch pile near rifle range and any other range cleanup debris to the dump at end of work-day.
